The 2026 Hawaii and Pacific JSHS
Location TBD
Dates TBD
The Hawaii and Pacific Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (Hawaii JSHS), historically known as the Pacific Symposium for Science and Sustainability (PS3), is an enriching STEM program that brings students from all across the Pacific together to share their original independent research projects with peers and professionals. The Hawaii JSHS participates as the regional competition for the National JSHS. Regional and National JSHS programs are sponsored by the United States Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and the Department of Defense (DoD), and administered by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). The competition will be a two-day event, where students give oral presentations to a panel of judges on the 1st day and selected finalists present on the 2nd day, followed by an awards ceremony. This year, the Hawaii JSHS is TBD. The top 5 finalists will represent the Hawaii Delegation in the 2026 National JSHS competition with an all-expense paid trip in Spring 2026. The top three Hawaii JSHS finalists will also win scholarship awards: 1st Place - $2000; 2nd Place - $1500; 3rd Place - $1000. For more detailed information about the National JSHS competition, please visit the JSHS website.
